Cookie Pie: Colorful Cake with Treats

Written by Kathrin (Leave a Comment)

This cookie pie, a colorful cake with treats, is chewy on the inside and crunchy on the outside. A real eye-catcher!

sinful cookie pie with Smarties and Oreos

A cake like this cookie pie should actually be banned. Because it looks so pretty and colorful, tastes wonderfully sinful, and is not necessarily healthy, to say it in a roundabout way.

    Taste and Occasion

The cookie pie is also sooo delicious - and with its appearance, a real good mood cake. If you bake it for a kid's birthday party, you'll be rewarded with enthusiastic eaters!

I came up with the cookie pie recipe because I wanted to bake all sorts of favorite sweets. And is there a better way to do that than in raw cookie dough? Cookie dough, which I could eat anytime, anywhere, anyway (here's my recipe for brownies with cookie dough)!

All kinds of treats, candy bars, and chocolate leftovers are suitable for cookie pie. Colorful chocolate lentils like Smarties or M&M's look especially nice; "Rolo" (little chocolate-caramel-drops) give the pie a slight "depth" (but sink quite a bit during baking), the black and white mini Oreos are always a good choice anyway ;-).

The cookie pie turns out nice and chewy (a bit like the classic chocolate cookies), so it's not crispy and baked through, but still a bit soft and creamy, especially in the middle.

How to make the Cookie Pie

First of all, line a tart pan (preferably with a straight edge) or a springform pan with baking paper or grease and dust with flour. Preheat the oven to 340°F/170°C. Let the melted butter cool slightly. Whisk well in a bowl together with eggs and sugar. Now, add flour and salt to the bowl and whisk vigorously but briefly. Then, fold about half of the M&Ms into the dough and spread the dough into the baking dish.

    Recipe Recommendation

    Apple Pie with Cinnamon Cream

This apple cream pie is one of the best apple pies: a slightly sweet cake the moist, refreshing apple custard filling and vanilla cinnamon cream. It always hits the spot!

After this, spread the remaining M&Ms on top of the pie along with the Rolo and Oreo candies, pressing them very lightly into the dough. Bake cookie pie for about 15-20 minutes. The time is very rough as every oven bakes differently. With this recipe, you must be especially careful that you don't want the pie to be completely baked through but remain minimally fudgy.

    Top Tip

One more note on the "kid-appropriateness" of the cookie pie recipe: yes, cookie pie is a treat, not a staple food. But it's better to offer kids homemade baked goods from time to time than to have them buy sweets from the so-called "baker" (usually an in-store bakery). The purchased things often contain butter, flour, sugar, and artificial products such as glucose syrup, dyes, and the like. That's why it's better to bake cookies yourself, preferably together with your children. This way, they immediately learn a more natural approach to real food. And now have fun with the good mood recipe, the colorful cookie pie!
