Taste and Occasion
These easy eggnog waffles taste good at Easter and on any other occasion! They become fluffy and moist at the same time. With the right decoration, they are also a beautiful eyecatcher.
Waffles are a good thing - especially in winter. Of course, these delicious waffles with eggnog taste especially good during Easter. Whether at brunch, as a dessert, or at a coffee get-together: You can have two of such an eggnog waffle 😉 … While the kids get classic waffles, we have these waffles with eggnog. They taste just slightly of liqueur, which I think is very good. Because I like recipes with eggnog, especially when the flavor is rather subtle.
Ingredients
The recipe is based on my basic muffin recipe. In addition to flour, there is also cornstarch, sweetened with powdered sugar. This combination makes the thick eggnog waffles nice and fine in consistency.
The creamy beverage results in a wonderfully fluffy waffle batter with eggnog and delightful touch. Because a recipe must also be an eyecatcher, the decoration is crucial at Easter. The eggnog waffles harmonize best with something chocolatey. And cute Easter decorations are always fun, too! So: How about a topping of vanilla cream cheese, dark chocolate drops, and delicious almond treats in the shape of Easter eggs, for example? For the cream cheese (curd or cream also work well), you must stir some bourbon vanilla extract. You don't need to do more to get a delicious, super simple topping. I always have vanilla paste at home anyway.
How to make the Eggnog Waffles
This delicious recipe is really easy and quick to make. So, let's start: First of all, beat the eggs with powdered sugar. Now, mix flour with starch and baking powder. Add to the egg mixture alternately with butter and liqueur and mix everything briefly but thoroughly.
After this, continue by pouring a large scoop of dough at a time into a preheated and lightly greased waffle iron. Close and bake until the waffles are done. The recipe yields about 6-8 waffles. Serve your waffles with eggnog cream, vanilla curd, chocolate drops, or similar.
Top Tip
I also used dark chocolate and cute, colorful sugar decorations for the waffles with eggnog. If you like a little more buzz - adults only, of course - you can also serve the waffles with eggnog cream.
