  1. This sounds delicious, but I haven't made it yet because I can't seem to find what size baking tray to use. Is it a half sheet pan or something smaller?

    1. Hi, itยดs about 12 x 17 inches. If you want to you a half sheet pan, I would reccomend to reduce the amonuts of ingredients by at least 1/5 (e.g. 4 eggs instead of 5).

I had to get a little creative on this! We just moved to Germany and have very little in our home. I halved the recipe and used a thick layer of tart cherry preserves (maybe 100mls), using a fork to mix it into the batter after spreading it in a 22cm round cake pan. Our wonderful landlord made us some egg nog, I used a few spoonfuls of that in the milk, as well as half a lemon's worth of juice stirred carefully in after the milk was mixed into the batter. I ended up with too much crumble, but that's okay. It took about an hour to bake, I poked it with a chopstick in the middle to see if it was done. It rose considerably and turned out delicious. Even my wife likes it. Normally she hates when I get creative. Thank you for sharing this recipe!
